Q: Can I direct my gift to a certain area?

A: Yes. Making a donation is a very personal decision and your gift should reflect that. For some people, a gift to the area of greatest need is significant – a personal experience may have had a profound impact and their gift may reflect that. You can direct your gift toward a particular campaign or program within the Hospital by letting us know about the department or area of care that you would like to support in the comments portion of your online donation form. Please see our Gifts of Gratitude Program if you would like to acknowledge any particular staff or department with a thank you note along with your donation.

Q: Whom do I contact if I want to make a donation?

A: To donate, you can call us at 204-632-3552, email us at jmaxwell@sogh.mb.ca, or donate online here. Choose Ways to Give in our main menu to see more donation options.

Q: Whom do I contact if I want to run an event on behalf of the Foundation?

A: You can contact Janet Maxwell, our Stewardship & Donor Relations Officer, at 204-632-3552 or jmaxwell@sogh.mb.ca.

Q: My siblings and I would like to make a donation in memory of our parent. Can we all get tax receipts?

A: CRA receipting regulations state that only the individual whose name appears on the form of payment can qualify for a receipt. If each individual would like to be receipted, individual donations may be a better avenue. If the donation is a major gift amount, there may be alternate recognition opportunities. To discuss these options, please call us at 204-632-3552 or email us at jmaxwell@sogh.mb.ca.

Q: I’d like to contribute as a sponsor to Foundation events through my business. Will I receive a receipt for my donation?

A: There are many ways for businesses to contribute. If your gift is merchandise rather than a monetary contribution, you will be receipted for the retail value of the item(s). While gift cards and gift certificates are always welcome, these donations do not qualify for tax receipts.
