World Whiskey Tour

What a wonderful world. The World Whiskey Tour, that is. Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation put on a most wonderful evening with its first-ever virtual event, offering a curated selection of the finest whiskies from Japan, Kentucky, Scotland, and Ireland delivered right to your door, with a perfect cut of steak, a charcuterie board, artisan bread, dessert, red wine, juice, and spring water.

Presented by the Garcea Group of Companies,  Joe Aiello, radio and TV personality, emceed the evening. Whiskey aficionado and certified Sommelier Darren Raeside, who was just back from a tour of Scotland, led participants through a tasting guide specially designed for each unique flavour. With the assistance of his daughter, Isabella, auctioneer Gregg Maidment of Adesa Auctions, did a splendid job of raising an incredible amount of money for the donated auction prizes.

While being educated on the world’s best whiskies in our own living rooms, sponsors helped to raise almost $150,000 during an evening of good drink, great food, and exciting auction prizes. This event was an eye-opener with the ability to virtually visit group tables and chat with anyone who attended. 

In the comfort of your own homes, in front of the TV or computer, the evening was a great success thanks to the generosity of all who attended and those very special auction prize and event sponsors.

Thank you to all for supporting chronic disease research and programming that is happening right here in your community and beyond – research that is having a direct and immediate impact on the prevention and management of chronic disease. Among other things, funds raised will go to initiatives such as the purchase of innovative bed bikes that can speed up healing and reduce the amount of time spent in hospital, to the gorgeous, calming Gardens of Reconciliation.
