Leave a legacy of healing.

Whether you are a past patient or a loved one received care from the hospital, whether you were a member at The Wellness Institute or you are a compassionate community member, your legacy gift to Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation (SOGH Foundation) will change lives.

When you leave a gift to SOGH Foundation in your Will or through other legacy giving vehicles, you help prevent chronic disease, improve patient care and outcomes, and make our community better.

“Just because my parents were older doesn’t mean that they weren’t important. Seven Oaks recognizes that and ensured that both of them – unique in their experiences but similar in their needs – knew that they mattered.” – Gloria, grateful family member

Legacy gifts make a difference for our community. Even the smallest gifts have an impact on patient care at Seven Oaks General Hospital, fund research projects through the Chronic Disease Innovation Centre, and improve the health of our community through Wellness Institute Outreach programs.

When health problems arise, it feels like the world is against you. It doesn’t have to be that way. The Cardiac Rehab Program at the Wellness Institute gave us the tools to transform problems into opportunities.” – Connie, grateful client of The Wellness Institute

Your legacy is your gift to the future. Once you’ve cared for your loved ones and seen to their needs, what else do you want to leave behind? With a legacy gift to SOGH Foundation, you are making a statement that you care about our community, that you believe health is important, and that your generosity lives on.

Your legacy gift is a simple and elegant way to make a powerful impact on the health of our community.

Thank you!

Types of Legacy Gifts

Wills & Bequests

A bequest is a gift specified in your will. It is a simple and valuable way to support the work of the Foundation for future generations. You can allocate a certain sum of money, a particular asset, or a portion of your estate. To include a bequest to Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation in your will, you should consult with a lawyer in estate planning. They can help you prepare a new will, or add a bequest to an existing will.

Life Insurance

You can donate a new or existing life insurance policy and receive tax benefits during your life. You can also name Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation as beneficiary of a policy you own, and your estate will benefit from the tax benefits.

RRSPs and RRIFs

You can designate Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation as a beneficiary of your Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) or Registered Retirement Income Fund (RRIF). By donating a RRSP or RRIF, you will counteract the tax that would otherwise be payable by your estate.

Securities

Donating stocks, mutual funds, or bonds is the most tax-effective way to leave a legacy gift. If you donate securities to Seven Oaks General Hospital  Foundation, you will not pay tax on the transfer and will receive a tax receipt for the fair market value of the shares on the date they are transferred to the Foundation. You may donate securities during your life or include this planning in your will.
